A Invitation to Lent
Lent 2025: March 5 - April 19
The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and continues for forty days (not including Sundays) leading up to Easter. Historically, Lent has been a time where Christians around the world focus on repentance, humility, and preparation, renewing practices of prayer, fasting, and generosity. Instead of fasting for a meal, some people “give up” a food group (i.e. meat) or a habit (i.e. checking social media). If you are new to observing the season of Lent, this article may be helpful to you. Paul Burkhart, our Youth Director, wrote up this helpful overview.
Our deacons also lead us each Lent in taking up an Easter Sacrificial Offering to support local and global mission partners. The recipients of this year’s offering will be announced on Ash Wednesday.
May God bless us this Lent as we journey together in the Way of Jesus.
